Reviews GOJIRA

  • A towering structure with deep roots

    By Infini19A0
Amazonia was the song that got my attention. Grind is currently my favorite yet everything here is excellent. The title track is/has an intriguing transition into The Chant. This has many enjoyable sounds that defy genre while still inevitably justified as metal. I cannot write enough good things about the instrument mix, talent in composing, performance and so on. Every second of it is extremely enjoyable.

Have been a fan since the first release . I knew this was going to be great from the first songs they released but it has exceeded my expections. .They have evolved and have brought us an amazing album . They are so underrated in my opinion. Open you mind and you will see they really are an amazing band . Could not love this album any more Thanks Gojira is was so worth the wait .
  • They never disappoint.

When I first saw this band, it was at a venue in Brooklyn in 2008 with a maximum capacity. The Way of All Flesh was their newest album at the time. They were amazing then. They’re amazing now. This album doesn’t disappoint, neither does anything else they do. To go from seeing them play small venues, to selling out stadiums, topping the charts, and even being mentioned on Late Night with Seth Myers, is an incredible growth to witness. This band deserves all the success and they deserve your ear. If you like metal I don’t see how you couldn’t like this.
  • Worth The Wait

Gojira will never disappoint. I love this new direction they’re going with their music. Born For One Thing and New Found have amazing breakdowns, The Chant is a great melodic piece, Sphinx and Grind have great uses of Gojira’s trademark “guitar noises,” and Hold On is an insanely underrated song that needs recognition. The anticipation has payed off for this amazing album!
  • Mix of old and new

    By Cowpokefan
This is a really solid album from Gojira and definitely a step up from Magma. I absolutely hated Magma when I first heard it because it was such a departure from Gojira's heavier sound but it has grown on me over the past 5 years. I'm more of a fan of Gojira's heavier albums but there is definitely a good mix of old and new on this one. Undoubtedly these songs will sound massive in a live setting and the hooks are all over the place. Won't be my album of the year but I can't argue if some people think it is. It really is awesome!

It’s hard for these guys not to make great music
  • GOJIRA keeps getting better!

    By Dtailtattoo
From the smoothe, chunky, and wailing guitars to the thunder and speed brought by Mario Duplantier. Ive enjoyed following this band from the beginning and they are even better LIVE! Believe it or not, they have a message as well and it has to do with this planet that we are all on. If your not into the message, get into the rhythm, it works as well!
  • The Album we needed!
